Mulberry celebrates its 50th anniversary during 2021 and has announced the first in a series of Mulberry Editions releases: a hand-picked collection of Mulberry’s most era-defining silhouettes – perfectly recreated in collectable, miniature sizes.

Mulberry began in 1971, founded by Roger Saul with his first collection of hand-crafted, timeless leather accessories. In the ensuing 50 years, successive creative directors have continued to champion British craft skills and a youthful, elegant aesthetic, while adding their own twist on our DNA.

The collection pays tribute to the legacy of some of Mulberry’s most influential creative directors of the past two decades, from Nicholas Knightly and Emma Hill to Johnny Coca.

The Iris, Amberley, Bayswater, Bayswater Tote and the newly relaunched Alexa all feature in miniature forms as part of the Icon Editions. Debuted in 2003, the luggage-inspired silhouette is making what Mulberry terms a long-awaited return, reintroducing its free-spirited stud and belt detailing to a new generation.

The block-colour bags of the collection are crafted from the designer’s signature sustainable leather, a heavy grain style responsibly sourced from environmentally accredited tanneries with a Gold rating, available in Pale Slate, Chalk, Oak, Deep Amber, and Mulberry Green.

Each silhouette is also offered in its own playful iteration of an archival check, electrified with the eye-catching Mulberry Pink shade that will appear across wider 2021 collections.

This first Mulberry Editions collection marks the start of a series of limited-edition releases that will launch throughout 2021. The British design house states each one will celebrate an aspect of Mulberry’s heritage or introduce a collaborative partnership that “chimes with the spirit of the brand; a sustainable approach at the heart of each design process ensures we continue to build a legacy for the next 50 years and beyond”.
