SIXT seeks to lead new mobility solutions for New Zealand and its innovative subscription service is already proving popular.

Dane is no stranger to the automotive landscape in New Zealand, having previously lead Audi New Zealand among other roles within the industry. For nearly a decade however he’s been abroad overseeing Lamborghini’s motorsport programme and nurturing new mobility startups with Infinity among other roles in brand, network and regional management capacities.

Giltrap Group has appointed Dane as Chief Executive Officer of SIXT New Zealand, effective September 1, 2021. The new role is the culmination of two decades in the automotive and mobility space and follows on from Dane's most recent success as Executive Director of SIXT NZ.

SIXT NZ now consolidates the core pillars of the Giltrap Group: Distribution, Retail and New Mobility of the world’s most desirable brands and it’s fair to say Dane is an accomplished lead for the company as Kiwi’s slowly warm to mobility alternatives.

Dane returned to New Zealand after nearly a decade in 2020 and worked across various projects within the Giltrap Group organisation. He now brings his wealth of global experience to the SIXT New Zealand business as the newly-appointed CEO.

Dane actively drove the establishment of the SIXT brand in this country and introduced the New Mobility concept to New Zealanders. While it is a new concept in this part of the world, Dane sees the current macro environment accelerating adoption.

"As New Zealand grows and a global pandemic is changing the way we live, work, and socialise, we are introducing the concept of new mobility to New Zealanders. Unsettled by uncertainty, our premium and flexible solutions are a clever alternative to traditional vehicle ownership,” he says.

“I am very excited to lead such a strong and dynamic team that is already proving to be a game-changer in the new mobility industry and has a fantastic future ahead."

Providing one day to one-year mobility solutions through its rental and subscription services. SIXT also offers New Zealand’s most extensive range of premium and luxury vehicles available as a mobility service.

"With Dane, the board welcomes an innovative manager and natural leader with years of strategic and operational expertise. He will accelerate the growth of SIXT’s footprint in New Zealand and explore the immense potential of the new mobility market in our territory”, says Richard Giltrap, Joint Managing Director of the Giltrap Group.
