Platinum Experience at Royal Auckland
In collaboration with Giltrap Group, American Express recently invited some lucky Platinum cardholders to an exclusive golf day at Royal Auckland and The Grange.

American Express is extremely active in delivering opportunities of relevance to New Zealand Platinum Card holders and even engaging with clients at a one-on-one level in person at events and experiences card holders can access.
The Platinum card itself is a highly rewarding card, especially for frequent travellers, but it’s important, says American Express’ local Marketing and Partnerships Manager, Ben Crocker to keep elevating the Platinum card benefits for the growing number of Kiwi clients.
“Being a Platinum card holder has always been something special, but we want to amplify that experience for Kiwis by building our experiential offering more. Being able to invite cardholders to relevant or unique experiences will play a big part of that” Says Crocker.
A recent example was a collaboration event with Bentley of Auckland at the very exclusive Royal Auckland and Grange Golf Club.
Membership at Royal Auckland isn’t easy to obtain, so being able to offer non members a day on the pristine grounds is an exclusive opportunity indeed.
“American Express and the Giltrap Group are exploring more collaborative activations locally and Bentley of Auckland very kindly offered us a few select spots for our Platinum cardholders to whom Golf is a genuine passion.” Crocker said of the event.
Golf New Zealand and American Express have also recently kicked off a partnership so more Golf experiences can be offered and through collabs with organisations like Giltrap Group the possibilities for future experiences are endless. A Platinum card membership could unlock a day at the Golf course or an octane-infused supercar track experience.
“At the end of the day, it’s about delivering best-in-class experience, whether that’s using your card for a purchase or travel booking, or in providing opportunities that are curated to the past times and hobbies of our clients. We’re fortunate enough in New Zealand to provide a more personalised experience, often we get to meet and know our clients better at these events and it’s a joy to be able to have that level of interaction. We can’t wait to roll out more Platinum events around New Zealand.”
