Standard Issue in partnership with Middlemore Foundation

Kiwi label, Standard Issue, are contributing woollen jumpers to children in need this winter

Last year the brand donated over 800 jumpers and they are aiming to double that in 2022.

Last year, 1 in 9 Kiwi kids lived through winter without access to basic needs like sufficient food, a

good bed, or warm clothing. For our most vulnerable families and their Tamariki living in

impoverished conditions, winter is a challenging time.

Access to everyday necessities and a means to keep warm, allows kiwi kids the opportunity to live connected to their whanau as well as helping to combat the cold and preventable illness.

The team at Standard Issue clothing are determined to see our local communities thrive, and help keep as many kids warm and well through the winter months ahead.

For every Standard Issue Jumper purchased online or in their Newmarket store this winter, they will gift a woollen jumper to a child in need of an extra layer of warmth. Customers can also purchase a child’s jumper separately for $30 and Standard Issue will knit and donate this on behalf.

Partnering with the Middlemore Foundation who work closely with local communities means Standard Issue can ensure the jumpers are gifted to those who are most in need.

All of the gifted jumpers are crafted in Standard Issue’s Tāmaki Makaurau workroom by a diverse team of skilled craftspeople, with zero-waste, warmth, and longevity in mind. Bringing the workroom to life with an industrial machine, the knitting of donated jumpers can also be viewed in our Newmarket flagship store in Osborne Lane.

Last year Standard Issue donated over 800 jumpers and the brand’s ambition is to double that donation in 2022. The team believes strongly that small changes can have a powerful impact and, drawing on their resource and team of makers, together with your support Standard Issue can help warm up winter for our most vulnerable Tamariki.

It truly is knitwear made for good.
