The event will be the global reveal for the BST Edition 270 Polestar 2 and the UK debut for the Polestar 5 concept
Polestar, the Swedish electric performance car company, is returning to the Goodwood Festival of Speed on 23 June 2022 and will debut a Polestar 5 prototype and the new high-performance, limited-edition Polestar 2 BST edition 270. Polestar’s electric roadster concept and its existing product range will also be present.
“Goodwood is our favourite place to show our cars in an enthusiast environment,” comments Polestar CEO, Thomas Ingenlath. “This year, we are thrilled to showcase Polestar 5 going up the hill! Our UK R&D team is doing an amazing job developing the car, and we are proud to be able to highlight their hard work at this early stage.”
The Polestar 5 prototype will be stationed in the First Glance Paddock and complete several drives up the hill during the event. Polestar Precept, the concept car that is evolving into Polestar 5, will be on the main Polestar stand, together with Polestar’s electric roadster concept and the Polestar 2 BST edition 270.
The updated Polestar 2 will be positioned in Electric Avenue, and Polestar will again host its exclusive test drives adjacent to the main event area at Molecomb, where visitors will have the opportunity to book a Polestar 2 test drive on a closed route on site.
The Polestar 2 is more that a dress-up kit. Each Polestar 2 BST edition 270 is hand-assembled to exact specifications, using select, zero-tolerance performance parts. Because of this, only 270 cars will become available worldwide, based on registration of interest.
No design by committee. No engineering by spreadsheets. The BST edition 270 is an expertly tuned, handling-focused, limited-edition Polestar 2, created to push the boundaries of electric performance.
Based on the already powerful and responsive Polestar 2 Long range Dual motor, the BST edition 270 pushes the envelope even further, especially in its handling capabilities with track-ready, custom-made Öhlins 2-way adjustable front dampers and updated Dual Flow Valve rear dampers and an integrated strut brace take the handling into supercar territory.
Polestar has debuted various cars at the iconic event over the years – including the Polestar 1 prototype in 2018 and the Experimental Polestar 2 in 2021. The limited-edition Polestar 1 in Sun and the Experimental Polestar 2 will be stationed alongside the Polestar 5 prototype in the First Glance Paddock, and also drive up the hill.
